These methods allow us to provide reliable services with just enough room for customization depending on the project. We have also developed a <a class=\"internal-link\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/cwhr\/Support\/pi-portal\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PI Portal<\/a> for investigators and their support personnel dedicated to answering common questions such as cash advance, ordering, travel, etc. processes and form, as well as available university resources. Please discuss with your Division Director or equivalent, then complete the <a class=\"internal-link\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/cwhr\/support\/request-clinical-trial-support\/\">Clinical Trial Support Request Form<\/a> to kick off the process.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Navigating the Office of Clinical Trials approval process<\/li>\n<li>Evaluating protocols and recruitment potential<\/li>\n<li>Establishing cost of protocol<\/li>\n<li>Budget negotiations<\/li>\n<li>Sponsor and study vetting<\/li>\n<li>Recruitment and enrollment tracking<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring financial health of trials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n\n    <\/div>\n        \n<\/div><\/div>\n\n        <\/div>\n\n    \n        <div role=\"tabpanel\" class=\"tab-pane  oscitas-bootstrap-container\" id=\"tabs-0-1\">\n        \n            \n<p>For grants that signify a PI\u2019s first receipt of a particular award type or large shift in funding amount, the Center will help coordinate with NC TraCS\u2019\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rcmu.tracs.unc.edu\/\">Research Coordination &amp; Management Unit (RCMU)<\/a>\u00a0to assist with study team initiation and project startup.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RCMU is able to provide the following services:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creation of a functional grant timeline that includes hiring, ordering of supplies, timely off-boarding of research staff;<\/li>\n<li>orientation of the CWHR financial processes for ordering;<\/li>\n<li>interim research assistants to assure a timely start of the project until the study team is in place;<\/li>\n<li>and assistance with hiring and training of research staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0How CWHR and RCMU will work together:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>During the pre-award process,\u00a0PIs\u00a0interested in these services will meet with a RCMU project manager to assess the PI\u2019s needs and obtain an estimate for the scope of work to include\u00a0in the grant budget.
