Wendy R. Brewster, MD, PhD<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

CWHR aims to provide support for research that is dedicated to learning more about diseases, disorders, and conditions that affect women only, women predominately, and women differently than men. As director of the Center, I want investigators to think more widely about how their research topics affect women. We aim to advance health through research by encouraging collaboration among many different disciplines.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The past few years have been particularly exciting at CWHR. We released our 12th biennial Women’s Health Report Card<\/a> in May, 2022. This report helps us to identify and track the core areas of women’s health that need the most attention: obesity, prenatal care, chronic diseases, mental health and substance use disorders, cardiovascular health, and women’s cancers. We feel as though solutions to these problems are going to take the cooperation of experts from diverse research backgrounds.<\/p>\n

Our research portfolio continues to grow and expand by research topics each year. The talented staff<\/a> at CWHR has met the challenges of expansion by guiding the development of a process driven environment. We have expanded our writing, editing and visualization services<\/a>, and continue to develop opportunities that address the needs of our investigators. The Center has also been active in the development of junior faculty that go on to successfully acquire research funding in the area of women’s health research.<\/p>\n
