In the UNC Dermatology Alopecia and Hair Disorders Clinics, we work to evaluate patients with hair loss whether it is localized or diffuse. Our primary objective is to establish the correct diagnosis of scarring versus non-scarring process, as hair loss is a complex process that often has numerous factors contributing to what the patient sees. Once we have established a diagnosis, we set goals for care as there are many subtypes of hair loss where regrowth of hair may not be possible. We work to tailor therapy to the individual and set goals that are obtainable. Treatment for Alopecia and other hair disorders are often a long-term partnership between our team and the patient. We look forward to caring for you.
