Matthew A. Mauro, MD, FACR, FSIR, FAHA, is the James H. Scatliff Distinguished Professor of Radiology, and the former Ernest H. Wood Distinguished Professor of Radiology and Surgery at UNC School of Medicine and UNC Medical Center. Dr. Mauro serves as President of UNC Faculty Physicians (clinical arm of the UNC School of Medicine) and Senior Executive, Health Care System Revenue Cycle. Dr. Mauro is an Interventional Radiologist with special interests in interventional oncology, uterine artery embolization, the management of vascular malformations, angioplasty and stenting, biliary drainage procedures, embolization and stent grafts. Dr. Mauro has maintained extensive involvement with the Department’s residency program over many years, frequently lecturing and mentoring residents one-to-one. He is a member and fellow of numerous radiological societies and has published extensively in various refereed journals.
