In his role as CFO, Sledge is responsible for financial oversight of the School of Medicine and UNC Physician’s education, research, and clinical care missions. He works closely with leaders from across the School of Medicine, UNC Physician’s, and UNC Health Care to shape the strategic financial priorities for the institution.
Sledge reports directly to UNC School of Medicine Executive Dean Cristy Page, MD, and also to Matt Ewend, President of UNC Physicians. He work closely with Derek Wildman, Associate CFO of UNC Health and John Lewis, UNC Health Care’s Chief Business Integration Officer.
Sledge has 30+ years of financial management and leadership experience. Prior to coming to UNC, Sledge served as CFO of the Duke Clinical Research and Translational Medicine Institutes. He has also held leadership positions in two contract research organizations and served as Senior VP and CFO of Strategic Technologies, a large systems integrator. He started his career in the Entrepreneurial Services division of the Raleigh office of Ernst & Young.
Sledge is a graduate of Barton College and is a licensed CPA in North Carolina.
