Paul C. Neimeyer, JD, LLM serves as Senior University Counsel for Medical Affairs. His appointment is a dual appointment between the UNC School of Medicine and the UNC-Chapel Hill Office of University Counsel.
Before joining UNC-Chapel Hill, Paul most recently served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for VCU Health System in Richmond, Virginia. At VCU Health System, Paul established the legal department for the health system and oversaw its workers’ compensation and insurance programs.
Over his 30 plus year career, Paul also has served as counsel for a variety of other academic and community health systems, hospitals, and universities including Temple University Health System, The George Washington University, and Allegheny Health Education and Research Foundation (which is now a part of Highmark Health and Drexel University). Paul has spoken on a variety of topics including advance directives, professional misconduct, and legal department operations.
Paul received a BA in International Relations from Duquesne University, a JD from the University of Pittsburgh Law School, and an LLM in Taxation from The Georgetown University Law Center. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the American Health Lawyers Association.
