{"id":2226,"date":"2016-01-21T15:20:00","date_gmt":"2016-01-21T20:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/earandhearing\/communicating\/"},"modified":"2025-01-08T21:44:05","modified_gmt":"2025-01-09T02:44:05","slug":"communicating","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/earandhearing\/communicating\/","title":{"rendered":"Speech &amp; Language"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<h4><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Experts in Listening and Spoken Language<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Children\u2019s Cochlear Implant Center at UNC has been a leader in teaching children who are deaf or hard of hearing how to listen and talk for over 25 years.<\/p>\n<p>UNC has four pediatric speech language pathologists (SLPS) certified as <a href=\"https:\/\/agbellacademy.org\/certification\/\">Listening and Spoken Language Specialists<\/a>, each with over 20 years of experience.\u00a0\u00a0 They are skilled in teaching parents the tools and strategies needed to help their child be successful.
