In tandem, the public sector financial crisis in many countries has meant that partnerships with commercial entities are used to leverage the full potential of publicly-held genomic data. However, public-private partnerships in the genomics translational pipeline raise several key questions. Which benefits should be returned to the public, if any? How should products be priced? How should data be managed?
