Our Emergency Department consists of 40 clinical and research faculty\u2014as well as additional adjunct faculty\u2014involved in providing top-tier teaching, administration, research, and clinical care. Our department sees approximately 70,000 adults and 15,000 pediatric patients yearly. As one of the largest referral centers in North Carolina, we see some of the highest acuity patients in the state, with an admit rate near 30%.
