And it&#8217;s why the medical experts who have graduated from its program have carried on those traditions to the larger field of practice.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>As stated by Dr. Brice:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&#8220;I would advise the next generation of emergency physicians to remain humble, to be curious and to enjoy the ride. There is nothing more important in this world than seeing each other as truly human and extending kindness to one another. It&#8217;s how we make the world go round. That&#8217;s how we get through this life together.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Brice began her medical career in 1994, upon receiving her MD from UNC in Chapel Hill, followed by an MPH from UNC in 1998. She took the helm of the Department of Emergency Medicine in 2015, after 20+ years of service as a faculty member.<\/p>\n<p>She is an accomplished investigator, having held multiple federal grants with a focus on the care of patients in the out-of-hospital environment provided by Emergency Medical Services personnel.
