Why Otolaryngology?
Although considered a surgical subspecialty, otolaryngology is an extremely diverse field. It’s incredibly rewarding to provide impactful care that ranges from medical and surgical management aimed at improving the quality of an individual’s life to life-saving interventions. My favorite part of this job is in developing meaningful relationships with patients and families (with a population ranging from newborns to the elderly).
Why UNC?
Joining UNC is joining a family. The program offers significant breadth and depth of training in surgical and non-surgical management at a high-volume center with complex pathology. There are many research opportunities available and I feel fortunate to work with mentors that have truly invested in my development as an aspiring surgeon-scientist. I think the triangle offers something for everyone at different stages in life but has been an amazing place to call home and raise a family.
