Dr. Tyler Rist is the current Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellow at the UNC Facial Nerve Center, working alongside Drs. Miller, Drake, and Clark. He was born into a family of engineers and studied engineering himself in college until he was attracted to the field of medicine. He then completed medical school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN, before spending five years training in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. In residency, he took a particular interest in the treatment of facial paralysis and completed research focusing on mental health among patients with facial paralysis.<\/p>\n
