About

Since his father is an otolaryngologist, ENT has always been on John Henrich, MD’s radar. He knew during medical school that he wanted to enter a surgical specialty. What drew him into ENT was the diversity of patients one is able to work with, in addition to the wide variety of surgical procedures and techniques that can be performed in the head and neck.

  • MD,

University of Iowa Roy & Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine

One of the main reasons I chose UNC was the residents. It was evident during my away rotation that they had great surgical, clinical and bedside skills-thus I knew UNC had an excellent training program. In addition, the residents I worked with seemed genuinely close-knit and like they had a lot of fun together. They really made me feel like I was a part of the ENT family at UNC during my away rotation. I also love the Chapel-Hill/Durham area and am looking forward to being able to continue my passion for outdoor activities in an area that is so close to so many great attractions including the beach and mountains.
