Chief, Division of Rhinology, Allergy, and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery
The Division of Rhinology, Allergy, and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery offers a complete range of services for management of diseases and conditions of the nasal cavity and sinuses. Our allergy services include surgical management of nasal and sinus tumors, nasal airway surgery, and sinus surgery. Recent advances in minimally invasive techniques developed by UNC Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery surgeons now allow for minimally invasive surgery for many tumors of the nose and sinuses. Our surgical team provides the highest level of patient care and surgical expertise, ensuring the best possible outcome for our patients.
.
Many tumors of the skull base can be successfully removed using an endoscopic minimally invasive approach. Minimally invasive procedures typically result in shorter hospital stays, decreased surgical complications, and faster recovery. Our ENT surgeons are part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of other surgical and nonsurgical specialties at the UNC Skull Base Surgery Program. Each member of the UNC Skull Base team uses their surgical expertise and knowledge when treatment plans are discussed in order to provide the best treatment possible for each skull base surgery patient.
