Perez-Heydrich, MD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"s2\">PGY2 \u2013 Class of 202<\/span><span class=\"s2\">9<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s2\"><strong>Pronouns<\/strong>:<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">He\/Him\/His<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s2\"><strong>Hometown<\/strong>:<\/span>\u200b <span class=\"s2\">Miami, Florida<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s2\"><strong>Undergraduate Degree<\/strong>:<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">2018- <\/span><span class=\"s2\">University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><span class=\"s2\"><strong>MD<\/strong>:<\/span>\u200b <span class=\"s2\">2024- <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Johns Hopkins School of Medicine <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s2\"><strong>Hobbies<\/strong>:<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">I enjoy<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> hiking, kayaking, and spending time with my partner and our <\/span><span class=\"s2\">s<\/span><span class=\"s2\">heepa<\/span><span class=\"s2\">&#8211;<\/span><span class=\"s2\">doodle (part English sheep dog and part poodle).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"s2\">Why Otolaryngology?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"s2\">I am going into otolaryngology because I am interested in helping patients with conditions that affect their ability to interact with the world. From their ability to speak, hear, and even their ability to sense their body position. The conditions we can treat have huge impacts on people\u2019s quality of life and I feel grateful <\/span><span class=\"s2\">to<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> be able to help these people overcome those conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"s2\">Why UNC?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"s2\">As a medical student I wanted the right mix of rigorous <\/span><span class=\"s2\">surgical training <\/span><span class=\"s2\">and <\/span><span class=\"s2\">a <\/span><span class=\"s2\">supportive community<\/span><span class=\"s2\">,<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> and <\/span><span class=\"s2\">that is what I found here at UNC<\/span><span class=\"s2\">.<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">It does not hurt that I will forever be a Tar Heel fan!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"s2\">Fun Fact:<\/span> <\/strong><span class=\"s2\">I rushed Franklin Street in 2017 when the Tar Heels won the <\/span><span class=\"s2\">NCAA <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Men\u2019s Basketball National Championship.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PGY2 \u2013 Class of 2029 Pronouns: He\/Him\/His Hometown:\u200b Miami, Florida Undergraduate Degree: 2018- University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill MD:\u200b 2024- Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Hobbies: I enjoy hiking, kayaking, and spending time with my partner and our sheepa&#8211;doodle (part English sheep dog and part poodle). &nbsp; Why Otolaryngology?
