\"> appearance<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.43em; \">Realistic expectations are the key to success<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.43em; \">Safety is paramount<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.43em; \">Natural results are the goal of any purely cosmetic surgery or procedure<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; \">PROBLEM:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.43em; \">Any abnormality of the face or neck, whether from birth defect or trauma<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; \">GOALS:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.43em; \">Restore normal appearance<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; \">LIMITATIONS:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.43em; \">Cannot recreate undamaged skin<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.43em; \">May not completely alter developmental asymmetries<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.43em; \">Cannot prevent changes that occur with development<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.43em; \">Cannot solve personal problems of patients or parents<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.43em; \">GOALS MAY ONLY BE PARTIALLY MET<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.43em; \"> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; \">HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.43em; \">Aging and development will continue<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; \">SURGICAL TECHNIQUE \/ ANESTHESIA\/ FACILITY:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.43em; \">General anesthesia is necessary for most major deformities, although local anesthesia <\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.43em; \">may be used in certain cases<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; \">POST-PROCEDURE INSTRUCTIONS:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.43em; \">Ice packs are generally applied to the area of surgery immediately after procedure<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.43em; \">Continue ice packs until sleep on day of procedure<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.43em; \">Continue ice packs intermittently as much as possible on day 2<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.43em;
