Lisa Park, Gretta Richter, Amanda Sloop, and Samantha Scharf<\/span>. Their current research focuses on outcomes of cochlear implantation in children and adults with residual hearing and unilateral hearing loss, procedures for optimizing mapping procedures, and effects of age at implantation on outcomes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/ent\/research__trashed\/cochlearimplantresearchlab\/\">More &#8211;&gt;<\/a><\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/sparc.web.unc.edu\/\">Speech Perception &amp; Auditory Research at Carolina<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Drs. Emily Buss and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/ent\/directory\/john-h-grose-phd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John Grose<\/a> oversee research conducted in the <a href=\"https:\/\/sparc.web.unc.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/sparc.web.unc.edu\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1619122888377000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEeez9X1DTgUTRL0CPea3vvo8B63A\">SPARC<\/a> and PEARL laboratories. This team uses behavioral methods and electrophysiology to study hearing in humans across the lifespan. Their research interests include effects of development, aging, speech perception under challenging listening conditions, spatial hearing, and perception of basic aspects of sound. <a href=\"https:\/\/sparc.web.unc.edu\/\">More &#8211;&gt;<\/a><\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"http:\/\/www.manislab.org\/\">Manis Lab &#8211; Cellular Mechanisms of Auditory Neural Information Processing &#8211; UNC Chapel Hill<\/a><\/h4>\n<p class=\"m_-5454883935048885456xxmsonormal\">Dr. Paul Manis maintains a program research evaluating <a href=\"http:\/\/www.manislab.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/www.manislab.org\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1619122888377000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGHvolEVxIyzuSBqyfBS2KcmYbhsA\">Cellular Mechanisms of Auditory Neural Information Processing<\/a>. Drs. Michael Kasten and PhD student Reginald Edwards\u00a0also conduct their research in this lab.
