SUMMARY:A Night to Write
DESCRIPTION:A Night to Write is a virtual professional development series designed to support faculty and postdoctoral scholars through protected writing time and engaging in a supportive writing community. Each session will offer a specific scholarly writing theme\, individual writing time with opportunities for discussion and feedback from experienced facilitators and peers. \n\n  \n\nWhat to Expect\n\nWriting themes aligned with common academic writing goals\nDedicated time for individual writing in a virtual setting\nOpportunities to share drafts\, ask questions\, and exchange feedback\nConnection with peers and facilitators to support writing momentum\n\nSessions follow a consistent structure:\n\nBrief opening to introduce the session’s theme and goals\n\n\nExtended off-camera writing time for concentrated work\nDedicated time for reflection\, feedback\, and next steps\n\nObjectives\nBy participating in the Night to Write series\, participants will be able to: \n\nIncrease scholarly writing productivity by engaging in protected writing time.\nGain peer and facilitator support for common writing challenges\, including accountability\, motivation\, and navigating the academic writing process.\nAdvance works in progress such as grant proposals\, manuscripts\, abstracts\, posters\, and book chapters\, through focused writing and informal feedback.\n\n  \nTarget Audience: Faculty at all ranks\, postdoctoral scholars\, and individuals seeking structured writing time\, accountability\, and peer support for scholarly writing \nRegister Now\n\n\nDate\nTopic\nFacilitator\n\n\n\nJuly 9\, 2026 \n5:00 – 6:30 pm\n\nIntroductions/background using Lorelei Lingard’s Problem/Gap/Hook framework \n\n \nEric Zwemer\, MD \nProfessor of Pediatrics\nAssistant Director for Faculty Affairs & Advancement
