DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin us for the AOE Webinar Q&A “Teaching in Crisis” with Drs. Sarah Smithson and Clark Denniston on Tuesday\, April 7th\, 12:00 – 12:45PM. We invite you to send your questions in advance in your registration or directly aoe@med.unc.edu. \nRegister today!\n\nDr. Sarah Smithson is Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at UNC. She is the Course Director for the Advanced Practice Selective\, a systems based practice course for medical students. She also led Project UPLIPHT (Uniting Partners in Primary Care and Psychiatry to Lead Improvement in Psychiatric Health Treatment)\, a collaborative care program that aims to improve symptoms of clinical depression in adult primary care patients in outpatient primary care settings. She is engaged in Quality Improvement work related to Depression management\, Diabetes care\, and improving the care for complex patients in the Internal Medicine Clinic. \nDr. Clark Denniston is an Associate Professor and the Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education. He is responsible for the oversight and monitoring of all of the residency and fellowship programs sponsored by UNC Hospitals. Nationally he has served on the American Academy of Family Physicians Residency Program Solutions Panel of Consultants where he traveled to other Family Medicine residency programs around the country to provide consultations to enable those programs to achieve new heights. His areas of expertise include models of precepting\, small group teaching\, large group presentations\, curriculum design\, learning styles\, feedback and evaluation\, difficult learning situations\, and mentoring. \n\nTopic: AOE Webinar Q&A – Teaching in Crisis with Drs.
