Sponsored by the Office of Faculty Affairs and Leadership Development (FALD), this professorship provides departments with the opportunity to bring distinguished leaders to campus to share insights on leadership in academic medicine.<\/p>\n<a class=\"btn btn-success btn-lg btn-block  oscitas-bootstrap-container\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/unc.az1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_7Wmi2io6jDedcNg\">Apply Here<\/a>\n<h2 class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>Program Benefits and Support<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><em>FALD Responsibilities<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FALD will co-sponsor a visiting professorship up to $5,000 to support honorarium, travel expenses, and visiting professorship event expenses.<\/li>\n<li>Director of Professional Development and team will support:\n<ul>\n<li>School of Medicine promotion and outreach<\/li>\n<li>Registration and attendance management<\/li>\n<li>Post-visiting professorship evaluation and feedback collection<\/li>\n<li>Provide a visiting professorship certificate and a small thank you gift<\/li>\n<li>Assist with planning the visiting professorship<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Department Responsibilities<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Communication, coordination and execution of visiting professor logistics<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate visiting professorship event logistics and day of execution<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring department participation and engagement<\/li>\n<li>Assist with promotion and outreach<\/li>\n<li>Share half of the expenses for the visiting professorship<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the visiting professorship is open and accessible to all School of Medicine faculty and staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>Preferred Criteria<\/b><\/h2>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">FALD is dedicated to fostering a culture of leadership growth and faculty development.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">All departments within the School of Medicine are eligible to apply.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Preference will be given to departments who:\n<ul type=\"circle\">\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Identify a speaker with relevant experience in engaging faculty and staff with various career interests and backgrounds<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Have clearly articulated learning objectives for attendees<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Identify a speaker\/topic that is innovative and\/or interactive and promotes leadership growth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>Program Timeline<\/b><\/h2>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong> May 31, 2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><strong>Department Selection and Notification:<\/strong> June 2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><strong>Visiting Professorship Event:<\/strong> February 2027<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>Contact<\/b><\/h2>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">For questions about the professorship, contact\u00a0<a title=\"mailto:carrie_hoyle@med.unc.edu\" href=\"mailto:carrie_hoyle@med.unc.edu\" data-linkindex=\"1\"><b>Carrie Jackman-Hoyle<\/b><\/a><b>.<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Program Overview The \u201cLeadership Starts With Me\u201d Visiting Professorship is an initiative designed to enhance leadership development across the UNC School of Medicine.
