Adaptive Leadership: an evidence-based model for leadership through paradigm shifts. This session presents the framework, strategies for implementing this style of leadership, examples, and survival strategies for leaders who are navigating serious paradigm changes. We will also explore the kinds of paradigm shifts facing academic medical centers in the current climate.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Learning Objectives:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Describe the difference between directive and adaptive leadership behaviors (level 1, level 2 and level 3 leadership) and relate those concepts to their own behaviors<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Relate the differences between \u201cTechnical<\/span>\u201d,<\/span>\u00a0\u201cAdaptive\u201d and \u201cMixed\u201d challenges<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Describe at least four strategies for leading through paradigm shifts which they can employ (WISDOM)<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  4. List important considerations for surviving in the leadership role through challenging adaptive changes and paradigm shifts<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
