UNIVERSITY TRACK RESIDENT

Hello! I’m Juyoung Kim and I was born in Seoul, South Korea and raised all over the country including California, Washington, Oregon, and New Jersey. I attended Northwestern University in Chicago for my undergraduate education where I studied biology and global health. After college, I spent a year in Omaha teaching as an AmeriCorps member at a program called College Possible. I decided to venture out to North Carolina to start medical school at Duke University, where I was part of the Primary Care Leadership Track (PCLT) program that allowed me to learn medicine from a community focused perspective.

I decided to set my roots deeper into North Carolina by joining the UNC family medicine program. I am thrilled to be part of this family! I was drawn to the full spectrum training and most importantly, UNC’s mission to serve all the people of North Carolina. My interests in medicine include geriatrics, mental health, and lifestyle medicine.

Outside of work I enjoy cooking, spending time with loved ones, and decorating my home.
