Biographical Information
Dr. Shoenbill is an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine where she is Director of the UNC Tobacco Treatment and Weight Management Programs, and faculty member of the Program on Health and Clinical Informatics where she is Director of the UNC Clinical Informatics Fellowship Program.
She attended the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and completed her residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She holds dual board certification in Family Medicine and Clinical Informatics.
Areas of Interest
Her primary research interests include secondary use of EHR data, natural language processing, and machine learning to inform and improve quality of care and patient outcomes. Dr. Shoenbill also completed a National Library of Medicine postdoctoral fellowship in Biomedical Informatics at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
