UNIVERSITY TRACK RESIDENT
Vanakam (greetings in Tamil)! I was born in Palani, India but lived most of my life in the United States. I completed my undergraduate and medical school degrees in Maryland before coming to North Carolina.
I discovered my love for family medicine during my third year clerkship. I enjoyed seeing a breadth of patients in the clinic, loved the continuity, and the scope of care. I am thrilled to join a speciality rooted in primary care and the community.
Though my interests ebb and flow, I’ve found my core passions in community health education, medical innovation, and medical education. Growing up in places with low health literacy, finding avenues to improve health literacy is one way I hope to combat health inequities.
Apart from medicine, I enjoy spending time with friends and family – having life conversations, hiking, playing and watching sports, traveling, or trying new restaurants. I’m always open to recommendations!
