Hi Everyone! I was born in raised in Orlando, Florida and ventured across the state to Tampa to study at The University of South Florida (Go Bulls!). While at USF, I joined a 7-year BS-MD program and met the girl of my dreams in my general chemistry class. I fell in love with teaching and worked with Kaplan Review and Online Med Ed before starting my own free educational pages. My passion for primary care was solidified working with the homeless population in Tampa as a part of Tampa Bay Street Medicine. I believe Family Medicine was the perfect combination of broad spectrum care, disease prevention and patient/learner education.
Having both spent all our lives in the punishing heat of Central Florida, we wanted to move to a more moderate climate that offered lots of outdoor activities. Immediately after my interview, I knew I wanted to be a Tar Heel because the faculty and residents were the people I envisioned myself being in the future (not just because Carolina Blue is my favorite color). The icing on the cake was seeing the leaves changing color and having amazing weather!
My wife, Savanah, and I have a wonderful pup who enjoys hiking and backpacking. We love to eat and explore all the new restaurant/art/nature scenes in the Triangle. I also look forward to golfing, surfing and watching UNC sports when I get a chance!
