Resident Physician

Hey everybody! I come from a small town in rural northwest Ohio. It was my small town family doc that influenced me to pursue family medicine. After seeing his impact on the community, the scope of his care, and the relationships he developed with his patients, I knew a career in family medicine was for me. In medical school, I was involved with the AAFP and ACOFP at the local, state, and national levels which allowed me to meet several amazing family physicians which further grew my passion for the field. Also in medical school, I had the opportunity to participate in a year-long clerkship where I managed a patient panel in similar roles to how a family medicine intern would. The longitudinal relationships I developed with the patients were some of my most memorable experiences in medical school and it solidified family medicine for me.

After performing an acting internship with the UNC program, I was hooked and couldn’t think of a better place to be for residency. The full scope of training with a strong inpatient experience, procedural and ultrasound opportunities, leadership development, and ultimately the people are the main reasons why I am here. My interests within family medicine continue to grow but my main interests include rural underserved medicine, full scope family medicine, sports med, healthcare delivery and leadership, and family medicine advocacy/policy.

Outside of residency, I am taking advantage of all the outdoor offerings North Carolina provides. I particularly enjoy heading to the mountains for hiking, camping, rafting, or going to the beach to soak up the North Carolina sun and do some kayaking. More locally, I enjoy exploring the food and craft brewery scene as well as checking out all the local festivals and events in the triangle area.
