• Casting and splinting workshops

    Faculty from UNC Family Medicine and the Sports Medicine Fellowship teach bracing, casting and splinting workshops.  UNC Sports Faculty and fellows were available for the UNC School of Medicine family medicine interest group workshop. During the workshop students learned how to correctly apply braces as well as how to split and cast musculoskeletal injuries.

    We had another great turnout from sports medicine providers from the area and South Carolina for the two day symposium. Former graduates were able to come in for the annual event.   • Sports Medicine teams complete coverage of fall sports

    UNC Family Medicine, Orthopedics and Sports Medicine combined to provide sideline and training room coverage for areas high schools. The coverage provided a needed service to the community and also gave residents and medical students valuable sports medicine experience.

  • Sports Medicine Injury Clinic

    If you suspect you may have sprained your ankle, broken a finger or received a concussion in last week’s game, come to the UNC Family Medicine Center on Saturday mornings to get checked by our sports medicine experts.  We are now offering a walk-in injury clinic on Saturday mornings only.
