Brigid Mack, MD
– Graduate of SUNY Buffalo
– Born and raised in Albany, NY, I am the oldest of three/middle of five siblings. After majoring in Health & Society at the University of Rochester, I attended medical school in balmy Buffalo. My husband John and I, however, were eager for a climate change after 8 years of lake-effect snow. After enjoying all of my clerkships, I finished with Family Medicine and knew it was the one for me. On the interview trail, John and I had a whirlwind, 8 cities in two weeks, introduction to the South. Our last stop was UNC, and it was worth the wait. With a challenging curriculum, strong faculty involvement & a truly gregarious group of residents, UNC was a perfect fit. As intern year draws to a close, I am truly happy to be in North Carolina – and not only because of the ‘winter’ that we had… I have had support from my fellow FM residents, residents in other specialties, and faculty. John and I are still fixing up our new home – the cemetary is just going to take some time…(Ask! 🙂 ) and playing with the cutest puppy ever, ‘Otter.’ Our other interests are camping, reading, and musical theatre (which is how we met!).
