The Legal Action Center’s (LAC) No Health = No Justice Initiative would like to invite you to a virtual healthcare practitioners’ roundtable on Wednesday, November 5th, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. EST.\u00a0This conversation is intended for professionals who provide healthcare\u00a0and health-related supportive\u00a0services to currently and formerly incarcerated individuals. This includes counselors, nurses,\u00a0physicians,\u00a0social workers,\u00a0primary care and specialty care practitioners,\u00a0mental health and substance use treatment\u00a0and recovery\u00a0providers,\u00a0harm reductionists,\u00a0and any other health care provider who\u00a0offers care to this population.<\/span><\/p>\n

The purpose of this roundtable is to:<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Uplift the health care needs of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Cultivate a community of caring providers who are serving this population.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Foster information sharing around innovative programs that serve these populations, best practices for helping people to access care, and federal policy developments important to this work.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Support providers in states that have not expanded Medicaid eligibility to explore\u00a0innovative ways to connect the reentering population to care.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Gather insights that can inform state implementation planning for states that have an approved Medicaid reentry Section 1115 waiver (demonstration) project.<\/p>\n

About the No Health = No Justice Initiative: Our Initiative works with members of local communities to advance their movements for justice, fairness, and opportunity.
