ACA Enrollment Is Open. Get Covered, Carolina!

Starting November 15, 2014, you can enroll in an affordable health plan that works for you. The Health Insurance Marketplace helps uninsured people get health coverage. You can compare health insurance plans and then select a plan during annual open enrollment which is November 15, 2014 - February 15, 2015. UNC Family Medicine will be offering free appointments again this year for our patients who are interested in meeting with a certified application counselor who has been trained to help people in understanding the marketplace.

We want to thank you for coming to UNC Family Medicine for your primary care. We care about you and your health and we encourage you to investigate your options for health insurance coverage.

Think you can’t afford it?  If you meet the income levels, you may get financial help paying for your plan, and you cannot be denied coverage if you have any existing health conditions. Last year, more than 91% of people in North Carolina who went to the marketplace got financial help!

Still have questions?  You are not alone.  You can get your questions answered by going on-line at www.healthcare.gov . Once at the website, click on the “Get Answers” tab at the top of the page for a list of questions and answers.  You may also call Tim Smith at 919-545-3440 if you want to talk with someone at Family Medicine about your question or to arrange an appointment for free help with signing up for an insurance plan

Having health insurance is very important to your health so don’t delay.  If you enrolled last year, we encourage you to check out the website for new plans as well as to update your information.  You should receive a notice from your insurance company with information about your current plan and re-enrolling.
