Nathaniel Erskine, MD, PhD, received both his M.D. and Ph.D. in epidemiology from the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, and completed an internship in anesthesiology at Duke University Hospital. Prior to joining UNC Preventive Medicine, he was an associate with Destum Partners, providing business development consulting and biopharma financial transactions advisory services for U.S. and international biopharmaceutical companies. Dr. Erskine’s previous research has focused on clinical and patient-centered outcomes of patients with cardiovascular disease, hospital-to-home transitions, and telehealth solutions for patients with chronic illnesses. He seeks to leverage his diverse work and research background to helping patients access quality healthcare in the very complicated U.S. health ecosystem with great ease, better outcomes, and at lower cost. He enjoys wildlife and landscape photography and is an active member of the non-profit Rotary Club service organization.
