Biographical Information<\/h2>\n
Dr. Kelly Bossenbroek Fedoriw is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and currently serves as Assistant Dean for Clinical Curriculum. In this role, she leads the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the clinical curriculum across the medical school. She is also the Director of Medical Student Education for the Department of Family Medicine, where she oversees student programming, supports faculty teaching, and leads efforts to recruit and mentor students into family medicine.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Dr. Bossenbroek Fedoriw has played a central role in curriculum innovation at UNC, including serving as Application Phase Co-Director and co-leading major curricular redesign efforts. She was instrumental in the development and leadership of the Community Based Longitudinal Care (CBLC) course, a 16-week longitudinal clerkship for third-year students that integrates outpatient learning, clinical skills development, and population health. She has extensive experience teaching learners across all levels and is widely recognized for her work in competency-based medical education, assessment, and direct observation of clinical skills.<\/div>\n

Her national contributions to medical education include leadership roles with the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, where she served as Conference Chair for the National Conference on Medical Student Education and as a member of the STFM Medical Student Education Committee. Through this work, she has contributed to advancing best practices in clinical education, preceptor development, and assessment.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Clinically and academically, Dr. Bossenbroek Fedoriw focuses on chronic pain, safe opioid prescribing, and the treatment of opioid use disorder. She is board certified in both Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine and has led numerous educational initiatives to train clinicians in medication-assisted treatment. She has served as a national and regional educator through ECHO and AHEC programs and has contributed to grant-funded efforts to expand access to treatment in rural and underserved communities.<\/div>\n

Dr. Bossenbroek Fedoriw\u2019s scholarship spans medical student education, quality improvement, and addiction medicine, with multiple peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. Across her work, she is deeply committed to mentoring students, residents, and faculty, and to preparing the next generation of physicians to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.<\/div>\n
