Hello! I was born and raised in Live Oak, a rural town in north-central Florida. It was there where I was first introduced to medicine by a quintessential family physician who taught me the importance of caring for one\u2019s patients and community equally.\u00a0 I went off to undergrad at Stetson University in the big city of DeLand, FL and loved every second of being a Hatter. After graduating I spent a year working as an aqua therapist for an integrative-minded family physician who introduced me to the idea of exercise as a form of strong medicine.<\/p>\n
I then started medical school at the Florida State University College of Medicine with an interest in family medicine and was very fortunate to have been supported by the incredible family physicians on faculty at FSU. During my fourth year of medical school I did an acting internship here at UNC and had an unparalleled experience, I was instantly drawn to the awesome faculty\/staff, robust department, and supportive environment. My wife, a pediatrics resident here, thankfully shared these feelings and we were overjoyed to couples match at an outstanding institution that is a great fit for the both of us.<\/p>\n
Outside of work I enjoy playing and watching sports of all kinds, reading, and spending time with my wife. We are loving life in the Triangle and enjoy exploring all it has to offer from restaurants and breweries to awesome running and hiking trails. We are contemplating a canine companion but currently enjoying our friends\u2019 dogs all too much!<\/p>\n
