Dr. Topper earned her medical degree from the Augusta University\/University of Georgia Medical Partnership in Athens, Georgia, and completed residency training at the Duke Family Medicine Residency in Durham, North Carolina. During her time in residency, she served as Chief Resident. She is currently pursuing a Career Development Fellowship at UNC and Climate and Health Fellowship at the University of Colorado, deepening her knowledge of the complex intersection of climate change and human health.<\/p>\n
Prior to medical school, Dr. Topper attended Rice University in Houston, Texas, and majored in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. She then completed two years of full-time volunteering \u2013 one year in Israel teaching English in an Ethiopian Israeli neighborhood and the second year in Philadelphia leading service-learning experiences for young adults and volunteering at urban farms, a school-based food pantry, and more.<\/p>\n
Outside of medicine, Dr. Topper enjoys spending time outdoors, attending live music events, exploring new restaurants, and exercising with her partner and their dog.<\/p>\n
