Mission and Purpose<\/h4>\n

Grand Rounds in the UNC Department of Family Medicine is a monthly forum dedicated to the dissemination of up-to-date knowledge to faculty, residents, students, and staff with the objective of advancing education in basic science and clinical medicine to improve patient care and public health.<\/p>\n

Grand Rounds presentations address a wide range of relevant topics focusing on advancements in clinical practice and research that improve the health of the population, individually as well as in communities.<\/p>\n

Grand Rounds presentations mostly educate on clinical topics and are enhanced when social determinants of health and psychosocial, legal, and financial issues are addressed.<\/p>\n

Grand Rounds also promote collegiality and socialization among members of the department and with colleagues in other departments.<\/p>\n

Grand Rounds support the academic environment in the Department and across the School of Medicine and UNC Health and strives to be a premiere education event. <\/p>\n
