Faculty Development Fellows in a seminar at UNC Family Medicine<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p> UNC Family Medicine offers a part time fellowship designed specifically for new faculty to reach their full potential as teachers, mentors and leaders.\u00a0 Led by a Board-Certified Family Physicians in concert with other qualified professionals, the Faculty Development Fellowship team includes physician leaders with decades of experience in clinical practice, research, and teaching, as well as a Psychologist who specializes in leadership and educational strategies.\u00a0 The curriculum is based on a year-long blended learning experience that includes face-to-face sessions in Chapel Hill, as well as online modules, forums, and group projects.\u00a0 It has four major components:\u00a0\u00a0 1) Leadership, 2) Teaching and Learning, 3) Scholarship, and 4) Quality Improvement.<\/p>\n
Program participants remain in their current faculty position and, throughout the year, spend a total of 6 weeks in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.\u00a0 When not in Chapel Hill, Faculty Development Fellows remain tethered to UNC through webinars, conference calls, online learning activities, and ongoing projects.<\/p>\n
Fellows are empowered to apply their new knowledge and skills at their home institutions as they build upon the concepts introduced with each visit.\u00a0 Fellows receive continuous feedback and guidance throughout the year and share their individual experiences and progress with the group through presentations, publications, and posters.<\/p>\n
The curriculum also offers Fellows opportunities to meet and network with leaders in healthcare and medical education, including Deans, Department Chairs, and Presidents of ACO\u2019s and organizations like STFM.<\/p>\n
