On March 1st, the 13th Annual Huntley Lecture will be held at the Kenan Center of the Kenan-Flagler Business School. This annual lecture is supported by Joan Huntley, whose husband Dr. Robert Huntley was influential to the department of Family Medicine’s founding. Past guests have included geriatrics expert Dr. Gregg Warshaw, policy and primary care expert Dr. Robert Phillips, and many others.<\/p>\n

This year, UNC Family Medicine welcomes Thomas Bodenheimer MD, MPH for the 13th Annual Huntley Lecture. Bodenheimer is the founding director of the Center for Excellence in Primary Care at the University of California San Francisco. He is author or co-author of a number of seminal texts, including “From Triple to Quadruple Aim: Care of the Patient Requires Care of the Provider.” This text inspired UNC School of Medicine to officially adopt the Quadruple Aim<\/a>, a series of initiatives and policies designed to lessen burn out and improve provider quality of life. Dr. Bodeheimer has served 32 years in full-time primary practices in San Francisco’s Mission District, both in community health and private practice. He brings a wealth of knowledge to our institution.<\/p>\n

His lecture, “Building Primary Care Teams to Meet Healthcare’s Challenges,” will address important questions for the future of healthcare.<\/p>\n
