By using the Core, investigators agree to abide by the protocols set forth.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All\u00a0Clients\u00a0should\u00a0wear their own provided lab coats,\u00a0surgical masks\u00a0and eye protection. They\u00a0may bring their own gloves or use core provided gloves to be worn\u00a0within the core.\u00a0Lab coats cannot be stored in the core.<\/li>\n<li>All Clients\u00a0shall\u00a0utilize\u00a0their lab-provided face shields while operating the\u00a0machines in B021C or during training.Face shields will be stored by clients in sealed bags provided by core labelled with the client\u2019s name and will be maintained by the client in their lab for future use when in the core. Shields will not be stored in the core, except for core staff.<\/li>\n<li>50% occupancy: Only one person will be allowed at each machine during the\u00a0duration\u00a0of an experiment with the exception of training. Training will be done primarily through remote viewer and newly prepared training videos.When training in person, both the trainer and trainee will wear all PPE listed as well as face shields and will limit time and exposure when 6 ft distancing is not practical.<\/li>\n<li>Clients will bring only their prepared samples with them during the operation of each experiment.\u00a0This will be limited to racks containing the prepared samples\u00a0and ice buckets as needed.\u00a0 Extraneous lab equipment limited to\u00a0pipettors and pipet tips will be permitted.<\/li>\n<li>Clients\u00a0should\u00a0clean the lab bench, keyboard and computer mouse with provided cleaning materials before and after\u00a0use.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>MATERIALS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One of the following:\n<ul>\n<li>70% Ethanol<\/li>\n<li>10% Bleach solutions<\/li>\n<li>Disinfectant wipes<\/li>\n<li>Cavicide solution (active against SARS-CoV-2)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>EQUIPMENT: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Paper towels<\/li>\n<li>Spray bottles<\/li>\n<li>Gloves<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>PROCEDURE:<\/strong> Client should perform one of the following depending on available disinfectant:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Wearing gloves, wipe down the machine, mouse, keyboard, and surrounding work area with a clean, wet, alcohol wipe. Let sit visibly wet for at least 10 minutes or until evaporated.<\/li>\n<li>70% Ethanol\u00a0may be sprayed onto the machine, mouse, keyboard, and surrounding work area until\u00a0visibly\u00a0wet; let sit for at least 10 minutes. Wipe with clean paper towels.\u00a0This should be performed during the prescribed instrument cleaning after each client run.<\/li>\n<li>Or, 10% Bleach solution (made fresh daily) may be sprayed onto a clean paper towel until wet. Wipe down machine, mouse, keyboard, and surrounding work area with paper towel. Ensure all surfaces are dry before use.\u00a0Metal surfaces should not be cleaned with bleach.<\/li>\n<li>Alternately, use commercial Cavicide as directed by manufacture if available.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>All instruments should be decontaminated by the user before and after each instrument appointment.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Scheduling<\/h2>\n<p>All instrument calendars have been disabled for scheduling except by staff. To request schedule please provide the instrument, date, and time frame (beginning and end) to the <a href=\"mailto:uncflowcyto@med.unc.edu\">Flow Core email<\/a>. To follow distancing protocols we ask for flexibility in times as we strive to accommodate everyone in the Core. Occupancy limits are listed below<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Room\u00a0B018\u00a0(LSR II\/CyAn\/Attune\/Aurora):\u00a0 Maximum of 4 people at\u00a0any given\u00a0time.<\/p>\n<p>Room\u00a0B022 (MoFlo\u00a0XDP): Maximum of 2\u00a0people\u00a0at any given\u00a0time<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BSL2 suite:<\/p>\n<p>Room\u00a0B021A\u00a0(Aria III): Maximum of 2\u00a0people\u00a0at any given\u00a0time<\/p>\n<p>Room\u00a0B021B\u00a0(Aria II): Maximum of 2\u00a0people\u00a0at any given\u00a0time.<\/p>\n<p>Room\u00a0B021C (Fortessa\/Attune\/iQue\/ImageStreamX): Maximum of 3\u00a0people at any given\u00a0time.<\/p>\n<p>Note: \u00a0in B021C, due to enclosed space and longer exposure time, investigators are required to wear surgical masks and face shields.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>PPE (except face shields) will be provided by investigators\u2019 labs and department<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Training<\/h2>\n<p><strong>As of June 1, 2020 the Core is still in the process of converting our training program into one suitable for remote and distanced learning.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Core aims to have instrument training resume in 2-3 weeks. If you have completed the online modules via Work-flow, email your certificate to the staff and we will guide you on the next steps.<\/p>\n<p>We will be implementing an additional training module focused on Best Practices with Ramiro Diz. This module will need to be completed before access to the calendar is given.
