Shruthi Mohan received her Ph.D. in Human Genetics from Sri Ramachandra University in Chennai, India, in 2016 and moved to the United States subsequently. Her doctoral research work on genomic rearrangements in intellectual disability presented her the opportunity to work closely with patient families. This experience bolstered her interest in clinical genetics, inspiring her to get involved in work that has direct clinical relevance. She aspires to participate in research on facio-scapulo-humeral muscular dystrophy in the future.

Shruthi joined the Berg Lab in June, 2018. She is currently a biocurator for the ClinGen Resource, performing gene curation as part of the Autism and Intellectual Disability and the Hemostasis/Thrombosis Expert Panels. She is also working on variant curation for the Myeloid Malignancies and Platelet Disorders Expert Panels.

Shruthi is trained in Indian classical music and enjoys singing in her free time. She also likes to teach and frequently volunteers as a Science teacher through Skype for underprivileged school children in India.
