Her love for teaching led her to serve as a Supplemental Instructor for Organic Chemistry through UTC\u2019s Center for Academic Support and Advisement, later advancing into an administrative role as a Supplemental Instruction Assistant (SIA). There, she helped build a collaborative and supportive community within the SI program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>She also worked as a microbiology laboratory technician, gaining hands-on experience that deepened her understanding of the scientific method. Her favorite undergraduate research project explored the rheological properties of antibiotic-resistant\u00a0<i>E. coli<\/i>, combining her interests in microbiology and biophysics.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond academics, Tabitha served as President of UTC\u2019s student chapter of The Wildlife Society, where she fostered interest in wildlife and environmental conservation.<\/p>\n<p>Tabitha recently entered the next phase of her journey and is currently a Graduate Research Assistant and ClinGen Coordinator for the cancer genetics clinic at UNC. She is excited to gain new experiences and continue her pursuit of a career in Genetic Counseling.
