For example, we used trajectory inference to determine\u00a0<a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biorxiv.org\/content\/10.1101\/2023.05.22.541831v1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/www.biorxiv.org\/content\/10.1101\/2023.05.22.541831v1\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\">how the cell cycle responds to breast cancer therapy<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/arxiv.org\/abs\/2204.10975\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/arxiv.org\/abs\/2204.10975\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\">Spherical Principal Components Analysis<\/a>\u00a0to parameterize the cell cycle across different conditions and cell types.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Phil Spanheimer<\/strong><br \/>\nWe work with\u00a0<a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/surgery\/surgonc\/directory\/philip-m-spanheimer-md\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/surgery\/surgonc\/directory\/philip-m-spanheimer-md\/\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\">Phil Spanheimer<\/a>\u00a0to acquire primary breast tumor samples for single-cell analysis. We are particularly interested in understanding\u00a0<a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biorxiv.org\/content\/10.1101\/2023.05.22.541831v1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/www.biorxiv.org\/content\/10.1101\/2023.05.22.541831v1\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\">how these tumor become resistance to cancer therapy<\/a>\u00a0and how to use them as predictive biomarkers of patient response.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Adriana Beltran<\/strong><br \/>\nWe work closely with <a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/genetics\/directory\/adriana-beltran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/genetics\/directory\/adriana-beltran\/\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\">Adriana Beltran<\/a>, who directs the human pluripotent stem cell core, to understand\u00a0<a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/30177503\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/30177503\/\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\">early fate decisions in human embryonic stem cells<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jean Cook<\/strong><br \/>\nWe have worked with\u00a0<a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/cooklabgroup\/home\/people\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/cooklabgroup\/home\/people\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\">Jean Cook<\/a>\u00a0for several years to understand the\u00a0<a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/34800361\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/34800361\/\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\">overall organization of the cell cycle<\/a>. This collaboration has led to the development of\u00a0<a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/30421640\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/30421640\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\">new measurement tools<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/30077635\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/30077635\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\">computational modeling strategies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mike Emanuele\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nOur growing collaboration with\u00a0<a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.emanuelelab.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/www.emanuelelab.com\/\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\">Mike Emanuele<\/a>\u00a0is teaching us about the importance of\u00a0<a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/34851822\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/34851822\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\">degradation of key cell cycle regulators<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gaorav Gupta\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nWe collaborate with\u00a0<a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/biochem\/directory\/gaorav_p_gupta\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/biochem\/directory\/gaorav_p_gupta\/\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\">Gaorav Gupta<\/a>\u00a0to understand how\u00a0<a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/30886052\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/30886052\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\">cell cycle dynamics<\/a>\u00a0are disturbed by\u00a0<a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/31537809\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/31537809\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\">DNA damage<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Michael Kosorok\u00a0 Didong Li We work with\u00a0Michael Kosorok\u00a0and\u00a0Didong Li\u00a0to apply manifold approximation methods to study the cell cycle.
