Dr. Hyejung Won (Associate Professor, Genetics and Neuroscience Center) was awarded a two-year grant from SFI for her project titled “The Hidden Genome: Repetitive DNA in Autism Spectrum Disorders”.
The proposed work aims to analyze whole-genome sequencing and gene expression data from the Simons Foundation Autism Research Initiative (SFARI) Base to determine whether specific repetitive DNA elements are enriched in the genomes of individuals with ASD compared to their unaffected siblings or parents.
