She has been involved in applying and extending statistical methods, developing pipelines, and using bioinformatics tools for identification of genetic variants underlying complex diseases and traits in admixed and homogeneous populations by primarily using high-dimensional genomic data. Her research involves large cohorts and biobank datasets, as well as several Latin America cohorts including admixed Brazilian individuals for the study of complex diseases, such as cardiovascular, Alzheimer\u2019s and chronic kidney diseases.
