\/><figcaption class=\"caption wp-caption-text\">James Crowley, PhD, Professor<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"lead\">Dr. James (Jim) Crowley has been promoted to Professor in the Department of Genetics, effective March 1, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Crowley received his B.S. in Biology from Cornell University in 2000 followed by a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from University of Pennsylvania in 2006.\u00a0 He then completed postdoctoral training in Human Genetics at Duke University (2006-2007).\u00a0 Dr. Crowley was appointed Research Associate in the UNC Department of Genetics in 2007, promoted to Research Assistant Professor in 2012 and to Research Associate Professor in 2018.\u00a0 He also became an Affiliate in the Department of Clinical Neuroscience at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden in 2015.\u00a0 Dr. Crowley\u2019s research program has grown from an early focus on utilizing mouse genomics for neuropsychiatric-relevant research to now focusing on human genetics of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and Tourette\u2019s syndrome (TS).\u00a0 Dr. Crowley has capitalized on unique resources in the Nordic countries to increase the sample size for OCD and TS genomic
