Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of the knowledge-based activity, the learner should be able to:

  1. Discuss the impact of therapy on the natural history of chronic hepatitis C.
  2. Identify the success and limitations of new treatment modalities for chronic hepatitis B and hepatitis C.
  3. Integrate the latest clinical trials data into the management of individual patients in order to maximize treatment outcomes for chronic liver diseases, such as NASH, primary biliary cholangitis and other liver diseases.
  4. Review new concepts in the management of complications of end-stage liver disease, including the management of portal hypertension, hepatic encephalopathy, and hepatocellular carcinoma.
