UNC Pouch Clinic
The Pouch Clinic has been created to serve anyone who has undergone surgical colectomy and ileo pouch – anal anastomosis (IPAA, also known as a “pouch” procedure) for inflammatory bowel diseases or Familial Adenomatous Polyposis. With over 1100 pouch procedures performed over the years, UNC is a widely recognized center in the Southeastern US for this type of surgery. This unique clinic offers the expertise and tools to provide routine continuous postoperative care for pouch patients as well as therapy for those having troublesome symptoms from their pouches. Appointments can be arranged with same day endoscopic evaluations combined with a clinic visit to discuss the findings and implications for therapy.
The Pouch Clinic is located inside of the UNC Endoscopy Center at Meadowmont. For an appointment in the Pouch Clinic please contact UNC Multidisciplinary Center for IBD Research and Treatment by phone 919.966.2511 or by fax 919.966.3414. Referral forms can be found here.
