Awardees are selected on the basis of both scholarship (research excellence, contributions to the field) and graduate service (contributions to graduate training, GMB community). Awards are announced during the annual Genetics\/GMB\/BCB Scientific Retreat. Nominations are made by faculty advisors and are reviewed by the GMB Executive Committee.
