National Allied Health Week

November 6-12, 2022

Did you know that when combined, allied health professions comprise nearly 60 percent of the health professions workforce? This week will be in celebration of the Department of Health Sciences’ students, faculty, staff, and alumni who work to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to North Carolinians and others across the country and world.

National Radiologic Technology Week

November 6-12, 2022

This week-long celebration recognizes the important work of medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals in patient care and health care safety. It takes place annually during the week of Nov. 8 to commemorate the discovery of the x-ray by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen on Nov. 8, 1895. This year’s theme is “Aiming to Heal.” Click to learn more.

National Rural Health Day

November 17, 2022

According to the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH), this day is “an opportunity to ‘Celebrate the Power of Rural’ by honoring the selfless, community-minded and determined spirit that prevails in rural America. It showcases the efforts of rural healthcare providers, organizations and cooperatives, State Offices of Rural Health, and stakeholders from various industry sectors dedicated to addressing Social Determinants of Health and unique healthcare challenges that rural citizens face today and into the future.” Click to learn more.
