All applicants transferring to the University of North Carolina for the CLS program must meet all requirements for the Bachelor of Science degree. CLS math and science prerequisites must be completed before entering the CLS program. We rely on the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to review applicant transcripts and determine whether requirements have been met. You will submit all your transcripts to Undergraduate Admissions as part of your application to Carolina.

As an international student, there are a few additional considerations:

  • All transcripts must be submitted in English. If you have coursework from non-US institutions, you may need to get an official translation.
  • In addition, you must submit a transcript evaluation for all coursework at non-US institutions.
  • If English is not your first language, you must also submit scores for an English Proficiency Exam.

If you need to complete additional general college requirements and/or CLS prerequisites, you may take these courses at UNC-Chapel Hill or at another institution, i.e., during the summer prior to the CLS program. Credit must be granted for the CLS math and science prerequisites before you may enter the CLS program. Students may wish to enroll through Continuing Studies to complete CLS pre-requisite courses.
