Judy Schmidt, EdD, CRC, LPCA, and graduate student Nicola Zollinger are pairing up to promote stronger interprofessional relationships. Collaboration has come from a variety of disciplines, including audiology, education, nursing, occupational therapy, public health, physical therapy, social work, psychology. Already this year, the team has promoted and hosted its inaugural grand rounds event, in which clinicians across UNC Hospitals met to discuss case conceptualization and the best ways to promote holistic care.

Nicola Zollinger, the primary student assisting Dr. Schmidt, reported she appreciates the opportunity to meet a wide variety of talented clinicians. As she works to compile information about interprofessional education programs and projects within the allied health profession, Zollinger said that she’s come to appreciate and respect the unique insights that each professional approach brings to the table.
